Det finns begränsad forskning kring barn med ADHDs upplevelse av mötet med vården. För en djupare förståelse av deras upplevelser behövs fler studier gjorda ur ett barnperspektiv och därmed på barn. Vidare tänker författarna att det kunde vara givande med en kontrollstudie. En kontrollstudie där man jämför ett anpassat möte med ett icke anpassat möte med dessa barn för att se hur barnens upplevelser av vårdtillfället påverkas. Forskning finns kring mötet med vården baserat på föräldrars och/eller sjuksköterskans upplevelser men ej ur ett barnperspektiv, därmed
uppmuntrar författarna vidare forskning inom detta område.
8.3 Slutsatser
Syftet med föreliggande studie var att undersöka barns upplevelser av att leva med ADHD. Studien påvisar att barn med ADHD upplever svårigheter eftersom de har ett funktionshinder som gör att de inte kan uppfylla de förväntningar samhället har på dem. De problem som informanterna upplevde som barn var oförmåga att vara samlade, att de var motivationsstyrda, att de inte var enligt normen och att de mådde dåligt. Om allmänsjuksköterskan är medveten om deras begränsningar i att kunna sitta stilla och oförmåga att fokusera och använder deras motivation i en positiv bemärkelse skulle mötet kunna bli mer individanpassat. Genom sjuksköterskans medvetenhet om att dessa barn inte vill uppleva sig annorlunda och att de ofta mår dåligt kan denne bidra till att insatser och stöd ges. Sjuksköterskan får även en ökad förmåga att upptäcka odiagnostiserad ADHD hos barn och kan därmed ge råd som kan leda till vidare vårdkontakt för eventuell utredning. Detta hade då kunnat bidra till att barnets livskvalitet främjas.
