"Shakespeare himself would have listened
with joy to the music that lJafted through
the concert hall last night.,."
This Has the music critic's comment when Suzanne Bloch performed at Rochester, Nelv York. Probably one of the greatest living experts in her musical field, Miss Bloch plays the lute, the virginal and the recorder, and sings early English Ballads. She brings to her programs not only a fascinating performance
and repertoire, but also a warm and sparkling personality, a delightful stage
presence, and communication with her audience. Her spontaneous and informal
comments on her music and instruments are part of the recital.
Daughter of the famous composer, Ernest Bloch, Suzanne has performed in concerts with Leonard Bernstein and Leon Barzin. She also composes lute-songs and in a New York concert included some charming songs of her own, set to verses from "Alice in Wonderland,"
Miss Bloch will appear on campus, Sunday, Feb, 18, in the \~est Ballroom of
the new Student Center. The performance will be at 4 p.m. She also will
meet with interested students and faculty at 10 a.m. Monday, Feb. 19, in Rooms 203 and 205 of the Student Center. Tickets for the public concert are $1 for non-students and 50 cents for students. They may be purchased at the Student Center Desk, or at the door,
