THE "FANNY BA RRET" Group of lines
There are seven patented claims- 300 "by 150 0 ft. as follows
"Lady Delia" No. 1412, "Rarus" No. 1409, "Argentine" No. 3033, "Queen Ex" No. 1413, "Evening Star" fraction No. 1410, "Mountain Queen"
No. 1411 and "Mountain King" No. 1408. The property is in the Buckskin Mining District, Park County, Colorado; about three miles from the town
of Alma.
The following description, or report was made by 3. T. Tyson, M.S. Extending across the mountain, through the center of this tract, there is a fissure vein, the continuity end value of which, together with that of other parallel veins embraced- within the side lines of the property, has been established by numerous shafts, prospects holes
and tunnels. The main workings are located about 425 feet south of the brow of Buckskin slope, and consist of a perpendicular shaft 180' in depth, from which levels and cross-cuts have been driven. Worth of the main shaft the workings are all in ore, except the extreme north end of the 50 foot level, where it enters the surface material. To the south the ore body also maintains its average width for a dis tance of 35 feet from the shaft, beyond this point although the thick ness of the or© body is diminished it is still continuous, and is found at its full width in the south shaft.
The ore body throughout the main workings, varies frcm one to four feet in thickness, and the ore may b e divided into two classes; the first class consisting mainly of carbonate of lead and galena, assaying from 30 to 60 per cent, lead and from 70 to 150 ounces silver per ton; the second class consists of oxides of iron and manganese a n d a s s a y s f r o m 5 t o 1 0 p e r c e n t , l e a d a n d 1 0 t o 3 0 o u nc e s s i l v e r p e r

has teen sunk about IS feet, from which ore assaying 100 ounces silver per ton has been taken.
The south shaft is 365 feet south of the main shaft, and is not sunk on the vein, but a cross-cut east, 65 feet from the surface, and the vein 5 feet from the shaft. At this point the ore streak was 18 inches thick, as sample of seven tons yielded 15 per cent, lead and 55 ounces silver per ton. This vein has been drifted on to the north 40 feet showing a continuous body of ore. A sample assayed 205 ounces silver per ton. Southward from the shaft the vein has been drifted on 30 feet. A sample of this ore gave 157 ounces silver per ton.
Following extracts are fran s report made by J. Alden Smith, Colorado State Geologist
The vein is a nearly vertical fissure in limestone. The top of the mountain is covered with limestone with alternating layers of quartzite. Between the limestone and the quartz it e are con tact veins of silver ores, similar to those of the vertioal fissures, but mainly higher grade in silver. The strike of the vein is Ifo. 30 degrees E., dip nearly vertical, so far as explored, and remarkably regular and well defined.
The ores are principally carbonate of lead and galena, maganesian oxide and carbonate of iron. The value of the ore is as follows: ' Carbonates and galena, mixed, 18 ounces silver shd 25 per cent, lead, to 23J ounces silver and 73 per oent lead. Average 57 oundos silver and
52 per cent lead.
r
Magnesian iron-oxide and carbonate, average, 30 ounces silver and 7 per cent lead.
