Farewell to the Saab
It took him to meetings, though often too slow And it got him to places state cars shouldn't go.
He owed no one mileage if he took it home And no one could dial up its cellular phone. The glove box was filled with requests he had killed
For Wildlife equipment and functions they billed, While under the seat, now covered with mold Were a flannel-mouth sucker and jar of "Bold Hold."
When Chips needed fashions and wanted to shop The Salvation Army was the Saab's likely stop. Its trip to the Air Base may not have been smart A plane ride is fun, but it's hard on the heart. Chips did some good thinking while driving they say,
The three rules of elk came to him that way, So did his best statement as a state bureaucrat Which he shared with the senate - "Wildlife is fat" But the Water Department said "The Saab's gotta go;
You need more front seat for the water buffalo." A fancy new car will comply with the norm

Water Conservation Board Division of Water Resources Division of WildlifeRecently, I have been rece1v1ng comments about the poor image of the Colorado Division of Wildlife.
To my surprise, most of these increasingly urgent, lugubrious complaints have come from traditionally supportive constituent groups and
individuals. They truly care for the state's wildlife resources and appreciate the dedication and commitment of those at the DOW who manage these resources to the benefit of all of us. This criticism, I am sure, is meant to be constructive.
Let me be specific. The letters (3) and calls (14) I, and others, have been receiving typically focus on the quality of the
division's vehicles and the questionable antics of those operating these vehicles. Well, quite frankly, the citizen outcry has unfortunately focused on one particular (not to say peculiar) vehicle and one particular (again, not to say peculiar) operator.
It seems that there is an outdated, oxidized-blue Saab with a Division of Wildlife decal affixed to the driver's door, Colorado license number APY561, traveling throughout the state and wreaking havoc on the image of the division, the department, and -- I do not think this is an exaggeration -- the state. The only thing this car seems incapable of.
doing wrong is speeding along the state's highways. The operator is
frequently seen in attire that is quite unbecoming to the sartorial image of division employees, and his demeanor leaves a great deal to be
desired. (One constituency group reports seeing him in a Teddy Roosevelt
costume, though I find this hard to believe; perhaps, it was Napoleon). By the end of next week, please inform me of any plan you and your staff might have for upgrading the quality of your fleet and curbing the more outrageous behavior of this employee. Thanks.
