Gastrointestinal Motility and Blood Flow in Teleosts during Digestion and Osmoregulation
This thesis provides a greater insight into the importance of gastrointestinal motility and blood flow during the processing of food and maintenance of osmotic homeostasis in teleosts. The tight regulation and coordination of motility and blood flow in response to different stimuli optimizes gastrointestinal function in teleosts, which ultimately underlies their relative fitness in their natural environment.
