The text of the International Standard IS0 8662-14:1996 has been prepared by Technical Committee ISO/TC 118 ”Compressors, pneumatic tools and pneumatic machines” in collaboration with Technical Committee CEN/TC 231 ”Mechanical vibration and shock”, the secretariat of which is held by DIN.
This European Standard shall be given the status of a national standard, either by publications of an identical text or by endorsement, at the latest by June 1997, and conflicting national standards shall be withdrawn at the latest by June 1997.
This European Standard has been prepared under a mandate given to CEN by the Europeen Commission and the European Free Trade Association, and supports es- sential requirements of EU Directive(s).

Introduction
This part of ISO 8662 specifies how a type test for the measurement of vi- brations at the handles of stone-working tools and needle scalers shall be performed. It supplements ISO 8662-1 which gives the general specifica- tions for the measurement of vibrations at the handles of handheld power- driven tools. It specifies the operation of the power tool under type test and other requirements for the performance of the type test.
The type test is made on an artificial load, so designed that measured values correspond to those found in typical work situations. This method is designed to give satisfactory reproducibility.
Stone-working power tools are designed according to one of two basic principles. In the first the driving medium causes a piston to transmit en- ergy periodically to a chisel and in the second the piston and chisel are in- tegrated into one piece.
Needle scalers work according to the first principle, but the inserted tool consists of a bundle of needles.
The motion of the piston also generates a reaction force on the housing of the machine, which makes it necessary to apply a certain minimum static force on the tool to produce a stationary operating condition.

Denna del av ISO 8662 anger hur typprovning för att mäta vibrationer i handtag hos stenbearbetningsmaskiner och nålhackor skall genomföras. Den kompletterar ISO 8662-1, som innehåller allmänna krav för mätning av vibrationer i handtag hos handhållna motordrivna maskiner. Den anger hur maskinen skall arbeta un- der typprovningen och anger övriga krav för hur typprovning skall genomföras.
Typprovningen utförs på en artificiell belastning, som är konstruerad så att de uppmätta värdena motsvarar dem som uppstår i verkliga arbetssituationer. Meto- den är konstruerad så att den ger tillfredsställande reproducerbarhet.
Stenbearbetningsmaskiner är konstruerade enligt en av två grundläggande prin- ciper. I första fallet överför drivmekanismen, via en kolv, energi periodiskt till en mejsel och i andra fallet är kolv och mejsel sammanbyggda till en enhet.
Nålhackor fungerar enligt den första principen, där insatsverktyget består av ett knippe nålar.
Kolvens rörelse alstrar också en reaktionskraft på maskinhöljet, vilket gör det nödvändigt att anbringa en viss minsta statisk mätningskraft på maskinen för att få en jämn drift under provningen.
1 Scope
This part of ISO 8662 specifies a laboratory method of measuring the vibrations at the handles of hand-held stone-working power tools and needle scalers. It IS a type test procedure for establishing the magnitude of vibrations at the handles of the power tool when op- erating on the artificial load.
The power tools may be pneumatically or hydraulically driven.
It is intended that the results obtained be used to compare different power tools or different models of the same type power tool. Although the magnitudes measured are obtained in an artificial operation, they will give an indication of the values that would be found in a real work situation.

Quantities to be measured are:
– acceleration according to ISO 8662-1:1988, 3.1, presented as weighted acceleration according to ISO 8662-1:1988, 3.3 and frequency analysis ac- cording to ISO 8662-1:1988, 3.2;
NOTE 1 Frequency analysis can be omitted if the absence of d.c.-shift can be proved by other means.
– air or hydraulic pressure;
– blow frequency;
– feed force.

1 Omfattning
Denna del av ISO 8662 anger en laboratoriemetod för mätning av vibrationer i handtag hos stenbear- betningsmaskiner och nålhackor. Det är en metod för typprovning för att bestämma storleken hos vibrationer i handtaget när maskinen arbetar un- der angiven belastning.
Maskinerna kan vara pneumatiskt eller hydrau- liskt drivna.
Avsikten är att resultaten skall kunna användas för att jämföra olika maskiner eller olika modeller av samma maskintyp. Även om storleken hos vib- rationerna har uppmätts vid artificiella arbetsför- hållanden, ger de en god uppfattning om de nivåer som erhålls i en verklig arbetssituation.
