Joakim Ahlberg was born in Stockholm, Sweden. As an undergraduate he received a Master of Science Degree in Engineering Physics at KTH, Royal Institute of Tech-nology, and a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics at Stock-holm University. Since 2004 he has been employed at the Department of Economics at the Swedish National Road and Transport Research Institute (VTI) and affiliated to the PhD programme in Economics at Örebro University. The thesis deals with the intrinsic challenges in auctions when, first, there is more than one unit for sale at the same time, and, second, the value of the units for sale is common to all bidders in the auction; that is, a common value auction. Both theory and laboratory experiments are employed in the analysis.
