INVITATION TO UNIVERSITIES OF APPLIED SCIENCES ENTRANCE EXAMINATION DEGREE PROGRAMME IN NURSING

Dear Applicant

You have met the required eligibility for applying to study at Finnish universities of applied sciences according to the Polytechnic Act 932/2014. Therefore you are invited to the entrance examination of Novia UAS, Degree Programme in Nursing. The entrance examination can be taken only in Vaasa, Finland.

Please take your passport or other official ID to the entrance examination.

If you have questions relating to the entrance examinations, please contact the UAS admission services.

Exam date in Finland: 10th of August 2018 starting at 8.30 a.m. Do arrive in time!

Exam place in Finland: Wolffintie 31, Vaasa, Finland (Alere)

Further information: You can bring the following materials; pen/pencil, eraser, ruler. Other equipment and materials such as dictionaries and mobile phones are not allowed.

All invited applicants must enrol to the entrance examination and also in which language, Swedish or Finnish she/he wants to do the language test, all applicants will be tested in English. Results from other entrance examinations are not accepted.

An entrance examination in Health Care and Social Services places emphasis on aptitude for the field by assessing motivation, language skills and social, learning and work skills. Those admitted to

programmes are required to have a suitable health status for the field. An applicant can score maximum 70 points in the entrance exam. Applicants must score at least 30 (maximum 70 points) in the entrance examination. An entrance examination result below 30 is failed and cannot be considered for admission.

The maximum scores for the four sections are: 20 points for the written test based on pre-reading material, 10 points for the mathematics test, 20 points for the language test and 20 points for the group interview. All four sections of the entrance examination must be passed in order to be considered for admission.

The following parts are included:

A preparatory task based on preparatory material. If the applicant doesn’t bring the preparatory task at registration to the entrance examination, the total sum of points will be reduced by three points. Read more about the preparatory task here:

Students are selected for Nursing using an entrance examination only. The admission score consists of totally 70 points awarded for the entrance examination.

Citizens of the European Union (EU) or the European Economic Area (EEA) countries are not required to pay tuition fees in Finland. Students coming from outside the EU/EEA are liable to pay tuition fees as of 2017. See information about the tuition fees and scholarships on our website:
