Master Thesis – Integrated Indoor Radio Basestation Positioning (30p)
Description
Positioning has become one of the most important functions provided by a smartphone, as part of different over-the- top services, for example Google maps, Glympse etc. The most common sources of the mobile phone position is the GPS receiver of the phone or by utilizing a Global Cell ID to get the coordinates of an adjacent base-station antenna.
A problem with GPS is that it is usually not available indoors, and with the Global Cell Id that the precision is not very high.
The task of this thesis is to study another solution for indoor positioning. And, if the time permits do a partial test implementation and analyze the performance of the solution.
