Jack B. Powell, newly appointed superintendent of the Mitchell, Nebraska factory, was born in Norfolk, Va.
He attended elementary and high schools in Virginia. After serving in the Army Signal Corps
1943-46
from which he emerged as a first lieutenant, he attended West Virginia University and was graduated from the University of Illinois in1947.
Mr. Powell entered Great Western service in
1947
as traveling engineer for the Brighton, Brush, Fort Morgan and Sterling factories.He became resident engineer for the Northern Ohio Sugar Company, Great Western subsidiary, in
1955,
and was appointed superintendent ofthe Fremont, Ohio factory in
