This guide presents the technical documentation that you have to

pro-vide if the market surveillance authorities ask for it. There are however

other information requirements and requirements on web-information

that you always need to fulfil according to the regulations.

Technical documentation for packages of water heater and solar device

How to comply

Content of Technical Documentation to provide to market surveillance authorities

Packages of water heater and solar device are covered by energy labelling requirements according to Regulation (EU) No 812/2013. The requirements apply to packages of water heater and solar device as described in in Article 1 and 2 of the above mentioned Regulation. The documentation shall be produced before the product is placed on the market.

The technical documentation shall be sufficient to enable assessment of the conformity of the product with the requirements. In this respect it is important that test reports are included in the technical documentation.

In accordance with methods set in Regulation Annex VIII. Water heaters under average climate conditions:

• Water heating energy efficiency ƞwh in %

• Annual electricity consumption AEC in kWh in terms of final energy In addition, for solar water heaters under average climate conditions: • Heat generator water heating energy efficiency ƞwh,nonsol in %

• Annual auxiliary electricity consumption Qaux in kWh

In addition, for water heaters using fuels under average climate conditions, and solar water heaters and heat pump water heaters under colder and warmer climate : • Annual fuel consumption AFC in kWh in terms of GCV

In addition, for solar water heaters under average, colder and warmer climate conditions :

• Annual non-solar heat contribution Qnonsol in kWh in terms of primary energy for

electricity and/or in kWh in terms of GCV for fuels

State any specific precautions that should be taken when the package of water heater and solar device is assembled, installed or maintained.

This guide presents the contents of the Regulations and is addressed to manufacturers, importers and others interested. The guide is not a substitution for the Regulations, and in any case of doubt, the Regulations are applicable.
