HOW TO SEPARATE YOUR FOOD WASTE

USE THE INCLUDED BROWN PAPER BAGS ONLY.

No other bag is fit for the Lidingö stad food waste system.

Change the bag at least every third day.

USE THE INCLUDED PAPER BAG HOLDER.

The bag holder helps ventilating the paper bag and drying the food waste. You can attach the bag holder in your kitchen, e.g. in a cupboard, cabinet or under the sink. Screws are included.

THE DRYER FOOD WASTE THE BETTER.

Drain wet food waste in the sink. If the food waste is still wet you can place some undyed paper towels at the bot- tom of the bag, or around the waste. Dry food waste lowers the risk of odor and the risk of the bag breaking.

CLOSE THE BAG BEFORE PLACING IT IN THE BIG BROWN BIN.

Fill the bag no more than up to the dotted line on the bag. Then roll the top of the bag, to close it. This lowers the risk of littering.

It is important that you use the bag holder to help ventilate the paper bag. Ventilation is key to lowering risk of odor and the bag breaking. This is also why the bag holder does not have a lid. The bag holder can be placed under the sink in the kitchen. It has screw fastenings to enable attaching it on the inside of cabinet doors.
