My thesis project deals with a strategy on

how to transform an old industrial site to a

learning environment, a new high school.

The old sugar mill in Kävlinge municipality

constitutes a clear and distinctive landmark.

The building(s) have been abandoned since

2010 when all activities was phased out.

The

The sustainable strategies applied includes

a new transparent second skin - a glass cor-

ridor facade, which stores the heat from the

thermal mass (bricks). It also includes a

passive ventilation system, using under-

ground ducts to heat or cool the building de-

pending on season.
