ÖREBRO STUDIES IN MEDICINE 56Fredrik Holländare is a clinical psychologist at the Psychiatric outpatient unit in Hallsberg, where he mainly focuses on cognitive behaviour therapy (CBT) for patients suffering from depression and anxiety disorders. He became a doctoral student at the Psy-chiatric Research Centre (PFC), School of Health and Medical Sciences, Örebro University, in 2005, and his research involves Internet-based self-report measures and Internet-based treatment and relapse prevention for depression. During 2011, he initiated the implementation of Internet-based CBT into clinical practice in Örebro County Council.
The studies in this thesis explore the possibilities for clinicians to use the Internet to manage cases of depression. Results demonstrate that Internet-based versions of two self-report measures are psychometrically equivalent to the original paper versions, and can thus be used as a complement in clinical work. The results also indicate that guided Internet-based CBT can be em-ployed for the treatment of ongoing depression, as well as for the prevention of relapse in the presence of residual symptoms after other forms of treatment.
