MEDSTAR
a mentorship program for PhD students at the Faculty of Medicine of Lund University
MEDSTAR is a one-year mentorship program focusing on the personal and professional development of PhD students through reflection and interaction with senior mentors. The objective is to create a framework for PhD students to discuss their important issues with an experienced mentor who has faced the same challenges and decisions.
Between September 2012 and May 2013 MEDSTAR organizes three evening seminars. Over a buffet dinner and refreshments all mentors and PhD students gather to hear invited speakers from academia and industry present on the topics of Mentorship, Leadership and Career paths for PhDs. Between the evening seminars you will meet with your PhD student for five individual meetings – for example over lunch – to discuss the topics from the seminars or other relevant issues.
