It is important for the leader to have the ability to direct the behavior of his or her followers in the desirable direction. Moreover, it is often required to modify and change the behavior of the employees so that it better suits the organizational model. During the process of changing the behavior, it is sometimes crucial to impact the behavior in order to move in the requested direction. Managers always need to bear in mind that the predictions of the future behavior will never be 100 % precise so they should always meet situations somewhat flexible (Hersey & Blanchard, 1982, p 9‐10). 2.1.4 Organizational motivation and Maslow’s hierarchy of needs
