The sections were constructed by means of the data reports which have been distributed to the senior scientists of the Baltic oceanographers except for the data of the Soviet Union, which were taken from Kaleis and Yula (1970). The data of the DDR have also been published by Nehring and Erancke (1971) and the Swedish ones in Meddelanden från Havsfiskelaboratoriet Mots 80, 93 and 104.
