“Mangrullo” is located in the south dis- trict of Rosario. By the east, it limits with Paraná river, by the south with Saladillo stream and by the west with Mangrullo stream.
The neighbourhood was settled by its inhabitants 150 years ago but it still does not appear in the city map.
It is constituted by approximately 200 families.
90% live in very precarious houses.
The homes are constituted by 4 to 9 peo- ple (parents, children, grandparents, oth- ers).
ECONOMICAL ACTIVITIES
The inhabitants of the neighbourhood “El Man- grullo” are old workers in the slaughter houses of the area, which today, many of them are closed.
Today the people in the neighbourhood work mostly in the
exploitation of the river:
- fi shing,
- otter hunting, - fi sh sailing
- animal breeding - net builders, - boat producers
(mostly men)
- cardboard and garbage recollec- tion for saling
- enterprising women, - cleaning houses
WATER SUPPLY: water is supplied from common taps and stored in plastic tanks.
There is no installation for tap water in the houses.
SEWAGE: There is no sewage in the neighbourhood. Some houses have septic tanks and some of them have just a pipe running towards the stream. Waste water from washing is thrown outside in the gar- den.
GAS: gas is used in Argentina for cooking and heating. In Mangrullo there is no instal- lation for gas so people buy gas cylinders.
ELECTRICITY: is connected illegally and very poorly by the same neighbours. The connections are bad and very dangerous.

As the neighbourhood was created by its inhabit- ants, so was its connections.
There is one main asphalt street that connects the site with the next neighbourhood.
The rest of the connections are made of soil, which are impossible to use when its raining.
There are few dominant public spaces.
The most important one is the football fi eld which is used for sports and events. The fi eld is also used for the horses to feed. The horses are used for transportation by the people collecting gar- bage and material in order to sale it.
There are also two abandoned old fi shing clubs which are used mainly by the inhabitants for recreation but also by people coming from other parts of the city to fi sh.
There is also a shared vegetable garden organ- ized by the government on the other side of the ring route, where some people of the neighbour- hood participate.

The neighborhood is connected with the city center, west and north of the city with 5 buss lines.
This is the only way of public transport in the city.
The maximum walking time to the buss stop from the site is 10 minutes which is located on Rosario Avenue.
