ANSATS SKYLTPROGRAM
Skyltprogrammet ska utvecklas för att underlätta hur man orienterar sig i kommunala anläggningar och bidra till att göra Kiruna till en attraktiv kommun.
Skyltprogrammet ska dessutom fungera som hjälpmedel för kom- munen och dess underleverantörer vid val av material, färg och placering av olika typer av skyltar.
Behovet av vägledning i olika typer av inre kommunala anläggningar är stort och målet är att skapa en tydlig, strukturerad och långsiktigt hållbar lösning för kommunens alla olika behov av inre skyltning.
Ett sammanhållet, stilrent och tydligt skyltsystem bidrar till Kirunas strävan att upplevas som en inkluderande och framåtriktad kom- mun.
Programmet skall bygga på Kiruna kommuns gra iska pro il och harmoniera med skyltprogrammet för yttre miljö. Vid utformningen av skyltprogrammet ska stor hänsyn tas till storlekar,
minoritetsspråk och tillgänglighetsaspekter.
Tydlig gra ik och bildspråk på skyltarna underlättar orientering och
kommunikation i kommunen. En samling piktogram tas också fram
till skyltprogrammet.

MÅL
Skyltprogrammet för inre skyltning i kommunala verksamhetslokaler ska utvecklas för att underlätta hur man orienterar sig i kommunala anläggningar och bidra till att göra Kiruna till en attraktiv kommun.
Det är också viktigt att anpassa skyltprogrammet efter lokalbefolkningens samt nationella och internationella besökares behov. Stor hänsyn tas till minoritetsspråk och tillgänglighetsaspekter.
Vi har utgått från den grafiska manualen som antogs 2012 av Kiruna kommun för att kommunikationen ska bli enhetlig och kännas ”Kiruna”.
NULÄGE OCH MÅL
NULÄGE
Kiruna kommun, som är Sveriges till ytan största kommun, kännetecknas av sin gruvdrift och besöksnäring, men har även en identitet som Sveriges rymdstad.
Kommunen är också känd för sin vackra vildmark, den samiska kulturen och rennärin- gen. Kommunen är mångkulturell och här talas förutom svenska, minoritetsspråken finska, meänkieli / lannankieli och nordsamiska. Kiruna är också en växande turistdesti- nation som lockar besökare från hela världen.
Kiruna står inför stora förändringar i och med flytten av staden som orsakas av järnmalmsgruvans expansion. Befintliga funktioner ska avvecklas, samtidigt som en ny stad byggs upp.
SKYLTNING
Skyltningen i Kiruna kommunen är idag bristfällig, framförallt på andra språk än svenska. Detta skapar problem för både boende och besökare att hitta viktiga sam- hällsfunktioner och sevärdheter. Behovet av ett sammanhållande och övergripande skyltsystem är stort från både kommun och besöksnäringen. År 2015 antog
kommunfullmäktige därför ett skyltprogram för yttre skyltning. Skyltning som uppförs utanför och utanpå kommunala anläggningar efter 2015 följer det skyltprogrammet.
Skyltningen inne i kommunala verksamhetslokaler är idag inte alltid enhetlig. Därutöver
ser skyltarna olika ut i skilda byggnader, anläggningar och lokaler. Behovet av en
tydlig, strukturerad och långsiktigt hållbar lösning för vägledning och orientering i
kommunala verksamhetslokaler är därmed stort.
KIRUNA GRAFISK IDENTET
Skyltsystemet är en förlängning på Kirunas nuvarande grafiska identitet. Typsnittet Museo är en stark identitetsbärare och passar bra för tydliga skyltar i offentlig miljö.
Färgerna i den grafiska manualen har vi inspirerats av i skyltsystemet.
Den grafiska symbolen av en ripa är en viktig del av manualen. Vårt mål är att integrera ripan i skyltsystemets grafik.
INSPIRATION
KIRUNAS INDUSTRIELLA KÄNSLA
Skyltsystemet är inspirerat av Kirunas industriella historia. I skyltsystemet symboliseras denna med konstruktion av järnbalkar och ett robust uttryck.

KIRUNA GEOMETRISKA FORMER OCH MATERIALMÖTEN
Designen av skyltsystemet är inspirerad av formspråket som genomsyrar Kiruna.
De geometriska formerna från både det gamla och det nya stadhusets arkitektur är en stor inspirationskälla. Även klocktornets industriella formspråk är betydande.

KIRUNA MATERIAL
Materialen i skyltsystemets konstruktion är inspirerade av Kirunas nuvarande och
framtida arkitektur. Stål och guld från klocktornet och det svarta träet och guldfärgen
från detaljerna på kyrkan. Båda dessa byggnader är viktiga delar i Kirunas identitet.
Liksom de exteriöra skyltarna bygger konceptet på en “ram” i stålprofiler (eller trä).
En distans mellan den tunnare skyltytan och ramen skapar en lätt och luftig känsla som lättar upp skyltens tyngd och maskulinitet. För de interiöra skyltarna är ramens dimen- sioner mindre än på de exteriöra skyltarna.
Då olika byggander kommer har olika krav på utseenedet på skyltarna erbjuder systemet en variation på ramens utformning.
Den starka kopplingen till Kirunas industri lyfts fram i skyltarnas utformning för att visa kommunens historia samt stärka destinationens identitet.
KONCEPT SKYLTPROGRAM

U-balken är vänd utåt på sidorna för att mer uppmärksamma det industriella uttrycket.
Skyltytan består av plåtar med en ram av fyrkantsrör som fästs i balkarna.
Luftutrymmet som ger karaktär åt skylten kommer både upptill och på sidorna av skylten, och ger då skyltytan ett “svävande” uttryck.
Höjden på själva skyltytan är anpassad för att ge god läsbarthet.
Konceptet kan också göras i träutförande. För stabilitet och hållbarhet föreslås limträ
trävarianten.

Viktiga skyltar placeras logiskt och konsekvent, det vill säga där man förväntar sig att de ska finnas och så att man lätt ser dem.
Skyltar får inte skymmas, till exempel av hörn, pelare, inredning och armaturer eller annat som hänger ner. Skylten bör placeras så att text/symbol hamnar ungefärligen i
ögonhöjd för stående, det vill säga i intervallet 1,2–1,6 m över golvet.
