This course works well as a preparatory for drug calculation courses. After completing it, you will be able to know:

the basic mathematics used in the nursing field how to do unit transformations

the basics of drug calculation

STUDY CONTENT

The course is divided into four parts. You can choose to take all four parts (5 ECTS) or to take only one or two parts.

PART 1 (1 ECTS)

basic calculations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division)

calculations with fractions, how to shorten and extend fractions

simple equations, usage on drug dosing calculations

PART 2 (1 ECTS)

unit conversion typical in drug calculations common unit prefixes used in drug calculations

PART 3 (2 ECTS)

percentage calculations typical for drug calculations implementation on dilution calculations

PART 4 (1 ECTS)

COURSE STRUCTURE

Learning platform: The course platform is Moodle and there will be four online sessions on Webex one for each part, with lectures and example calculations.

Examination: Each part has an online test. You need 100%

correct to pass.
