After finishing medical school in Copenhagen, Denmark, and her year as a medical intern, Anna moved to the north of Norway to work as a GP for one year. It was here she found her passion for rural medicine, which later lead to her specialising in general medicine and working in rural Sweden. She developed an interest in orthopaedic research during her three years at the orthopaedic clinic in Östersund, Sweden, and it was here she became a part of Leif Swärd, Jón Karlsson and Adad Baranto’s research team. At the moment she works as a GP in Åre, but in 2021 she will start her second specialisation in emergency medicine at Östra Hospital in Gothenburg. When she is not working as a clinician or researcher, she is a mother of three and loves to spend her time skiing, horse-riding or running in the mountains.
