(2) Preface This thesis is part of a bachelor’s degree in computer engineering at Luleå University of Technology, Skellefteå Campus. The thesis has been completed at Data Ductus’ office in Skellefteå during the spring and summer of 1999 as a research project. At the time of printing the component has been sold as a part of a network topology server application. Due to this, some of the appendixes could not be included.
