1. (Exerc. 1, p. 47) L˚at Qc(x) = x²+ c. Bevisa att om c < ¹₄ s˚a finns det ett entydigt best¨amt µ > 1 s˚adant att Qc ¨ar topologiskt konjugerat med Fµ= µx(1 − x) via en avbildning av formen h(x) = αx + β.

Let Qc(x) = x²+ c. Prove that if c < ¹₄, there is a unique µ > 1 such that Qc is topologically conjugate to Fµ = µx(1 − x) via a map of the form h(x) = αx + β.

2. Visa att avbildningen f (x) = xe^r−γx, x ≥ 0 (r > 0, γ > 0) ¨ar topologiskt konjugerad med g(y) = yme^−y, y ≥0 f¨or ett visst m > 1.

Show that the map f (x) = xe^r−γx, x ≥0 (r > 0, γ > 0) is topologically conjugate to g(y) = yme^−y, y ≥0 for a particular m > 1.

3. (Problem 5/p. 39.) Betrakta den s. k. bagaravbildningen

B(x) = 2x, om 0 ≤ x ≤ ¹₂; 2x − 1, om ¹₂ < x ≤1 . Hur m˚anga periodiska punkter med perioden n har B ?

Consider the baker map B(x). How many periodic points of period n does B have?

(e) S¨ok en rekursionsformel f¨or antalet fixpunkter f¨or σⁿ uttryckt med hj¨alp av antalet fixpunkter f¨or σⁿ⁻¹ och σⁿ⁻². Finns det en explicit formel?

Let Σ^′ consist of all sequences in Σ2 satisfying: if sj= 0 then sj+1= 1. In other words, Σ^′ consists of only those sequences in Σ2 which never have two consecutive zeros.

(d) How many fixed points are there for σ, σ², σ³i Σ^′?

(e) Find a recursive formula for the number of fixed points of σⁿ in terms of the number of fixed points of σⁿ⁻¹and σⁿ⁻². Is there an explicit formula?
