Dtrling his studies of bumble bees in North Srveden Mr Il. G. Svensson has col-

lected some parasitic Hlmenoptera, among

them specimens of a new species of the genus Blacus Nees. It is described below.

Blacus nirlicola sp.n.

?. Illack *'ith gaster bro.rvnish black. Legs and rving veins brorvn.

Head (fig. I A, R) smooth. Antennae (fig.

I D) inserted nearer to median ocellus than

to the base of cl1'peus and lvith l7 joints.

All flagellar joints except first joint equal in length. Ocelli in an equilateral triangle.

Thorax finelv punctated, in front of scutellar furrorv at junction of notauli a rugose tri- angular area. Scutellar furrorv rugose.

Scutellum flat not r.nargined, smooth on the disc and punctated laterallr'. Thorax all over

hairl', strongly so along notauli. Sternauli rug()se. Prol;odeum r.ugose with indistinct areolation. Gaster as long as thorax*head.
