6.2. F ÖRSLAG TILL FORTSATT FORSKNING
Efter att ha gjort studiens slutsats och bidrag kunde vi nu avgöra hur forskningen inom området skulle kunna fortsätta.
Syftet med denna studie var att studera och förklara sambandet mellan ägarkoncentration och likviditet på den svenska aktiemarknaden och som mått på likviditet har vi använt det årliga genomsnittet på den dagliga aktieomsättningshastigheten. För att vidare kunna utreda detta samband kan ett annat mått på likviditet användas, i form av till exempel spread. Spreaden har använts som mått på likviditet i flertalet studier på kvotdrivna marknader där nivån bestäms av market makers. Därmed kan det vara av intresse att på en orderdriven marknad, likt Sverige, använda spreaden då den bestäms av investerarna. Genom att genomföra en sådan studie kan detta resultat sedan jämföras med denna och andra studier och därmed bidra till den befintliga teorin inom området. Att använda sig av en annan definition på ägarkoncentration i Sverige form av antalet unika aktieägare i varje företag kan också bidra till den befintliga forskningen, då effekten av handelshypotesen kommer begränsas om ett företag har många aktieägare, allt annat lika, vilket kan påverka sambandet mellan ägarkoncentration och likviditet.
Då vår studie inte innehåller någon variabel för rörelser på aktiemarknaden skulle en studie med en sådan variabel kunna visa på om styrkan i sambandet mellan ägarkoncentration och likviditet påverkas av aktiemarknadens rörelser. Detta ämne har vi berört i studien men inte tittat närmare på hur styrkan i sambandet påverkas, vilket kan vara fallet då investerarnas beteende kan påverkas av svängningar och därmed även likviditeten.
Ett annat förslag är att genomföra en kvalitativ studie om hur investerare tänker och agerar kring ägarkoncentrationen. Genom att göra en sådan studie kan fler förklarande infallsvinklar hittas och komplettera de teoretiska infallsvinklarna vi och andra forskare har använt för att förklara det negativa sambandet.
