Eftersom vår ursprungsidé var att använda oss av en ögonskanner som mäter vad ögat tittar på i en bostadsbild så anser vi att det hade varit intressant att använda den som ett förslag på fortsatt forskning. Detta skulle ge en djupare förståelse för vilka symboler i en bostadsbild som ögat dras till.
Förutom att undersöka de symboler som vi valt ut skulle man kunna välja andra symboler i en bostadsbild för att se hur mycket de påverkar en konsuments hyperverklighet. Exempel på detta skulle vara symboler så som färg, filter och hashtags.
44 Ett annat förslag till vidare forskning är att undersöka skillnader i hur ett större företag, exempelvis H&M, framställer sig själva jämfört med hur konsumenterna ser på företagets hyperverklighet på det sociala mediet Instagram. En sådan studie skulle även vara intressant att utföra på andra branscher.

Introduktion till Instagram
Instagram är ett populärt socialt medie där användaren kan ladda upp och dela med sig av egna bilder och videos (Hu et al. 2014, ss. 1-2). Sedan Instagram startades i Oktober 2010 har fler än 150 miljoner användare registrerat sig vilket genererar i 1,2 miljarder likes per dag hävdar Bakhsi, Shamma och Gilbert (2014, s. 966). Instagram är mest populärt bland unga mellan 18-29 år (Tekulve och Kelly 2013, s. 1). Hu et al. (2014, s. 2) skriver att Instagram ger användare möjligheten att genom sin smartphone ladda upp bilder och videos samtidigt som de kan välja mellan olika verktyg för att förändra bilden.
För att förändra bilden kan användaren välja mellan olika filter innan bilden laddas upp (Bakhsi, Shamma, Kennedy och Gilbert 2015, s. 1). Filter på Instagram är de olika ljus- och färg justeringar skapade för att ha möjligheten att ändra på fotot skriver Manikonda, Hu och Kambhampati (2014, s. 4). De flesta filter manipulerar färger, mättnad, ljusexponering eller ändrar fokus. Filter kan även föråldra bilden, göra färgerna starkare eller ändra bilden till en svalare färgtemperatur (Bakhsi et al. 2015, s. 1).
För att beskriva inlägget och för att få en ökad spridning kan användaren lägga till hashtags (#) (Hu et al. 2014, s. 2). Hashtags har stor betydelse då det är ett sätt för användare att söka efter bilder som innehåller dessa nyckelbegrepp eftersom dessa bilder även kommer upp på något som kallas för “public timeline search”. Användningen av hashtags ökar också möjligheten att hitta människor med lika intressen och utöka sitt sociala nätverk (Manikonda et al. 2014, s. 4).
Användare kan också nämna andra genom att tagga användare i både bilden och texten genom att använda sig av symbolen: “@”, följt av användarens namn. Den taggade användaren får då ett meddelande om att han eller hon blivit taggad i inlägget. Instagram erbjuder social aktivitet likt exempelvis Twitter, som tillåter användaren att följa andra användare. Dock behöver användarna inte följa varandra tillbaka utan alla får fritt följa vem eller vilka dom vill. Om en användare väljer att ha en “privat profil” så måste en följ-förfrågan godkännas innan någon annan användare kan titta på han eller hennes bilder. I annat fall är användarens bilder och videos öppen och kan därmed ses av alla användare (Hu et al. 2014, s. 2).
Användare på Instagram tittar på bilder och videos genom ett “flöde” som visar de senaste
uppladdade inläggen i kronologisk ordning från de användare som de valt att följa. Användarna kan även kommentera eller gilla inlägg vilket då visar sig som en händelse för den användaren som fått en kommentar eller like (Hu et al. 2014, s. 2).
