Det vore angeläget att de konkreta omvårdnadsåtgärder som resultatet visat förekommer i omvårdnaden; humorgrupper (Minden, 2002), tillämpning av humor i stödgrupper för patienter (Johnson, 2002; Makoae et al., 2008; Widefors 2000), skrattrum (Johnson, 2002), humorbedömning (Johnson, 2002), och även sådana som beskrivits i artiklar som hittats under litteratursökningen men inte fallit under inklusionskriterierna, av typ sjukhusclowner (Abdullah-Baran, 2003); blev föremål för forskning så att effekten kunde bestämmas. Experimentella studier där sjuka som får uppleva humor ställs mot en kontrollgrupp med patienter som inte får det har varit svåra att finna och det vore därför positivt om sådan forskning kunde komma till stånd.
