I litteraturen och i den tidigare forskning som skett inom området finns det luckor i kunskapen om miljökontextens betydelse för omvårdnaden. Därför är det önskvärt att ytterligare forskning sker på detta område. Genom att studera och undersöka olika perspektiv av miljöns och kulturens betydelse i omvårdnadsarbetet kan området berikas och problem lösas.
