Uppsatsförfattarna föreslår studier inom behandlande åtgärder för olika stadier av trycksår. Vidare föreslås intervjuer med sjuksköterskor om vad de själva anser sig kunna inom ämnet prevention- och behandling av trycksår. Även patienters upplevelser relaterat till trycksår är ett eftersatt område. Över huvudtaget anser uppsatsförfattarna att detta är ett ämne där mer forskning behövs.
