Merchant och Van der Stede (2012) menar att belöningar implementeras främst för att öka
personalens motivation mot prestation, och kan därmed ge effekt på ekonomiska resultat.Då
aktuell studie inte studerat årsredovisningar i relation med typ av belöningar och nationalitet
kan man fortsatt inte heller uttala huruvida belöningarna varit mer eller mindre effektiva.
Eftersom den här studien visat att Sverige och USA motiveras av olika faktorer vore det
därmed intressant att i framtida studier inkludera årsredovisningar i liknande forskning för att
se till om effektivitet och produktivitet korrelerar med motivation och belöning. Vidare vore
det intressant att i framtida forskning se ett större urval, både för att ha möjlighet att studera
fler underkategorier i olika belöningar samt att skapa en ännu bredare bild av ämnet.
Fortsättningsvis gav aktuell studie resultat som visade att nationalitet i kombination med
anställningstyp gav effekt på upplevelsen av arbetsplatsen, detta både i upplevelsen av
arbetskrav och arbetskontroll. Vidare förslag till framtida studier är därmed hur motivation
och upplevelsen av arbetsplats påverkas av anställningstyp, både enbart inom Sverige men
också mellan olika nationer.
