Föreliggande studie är viktig eftersom den beskriver sjuksköterskors upplevelser av anhörignärvaro under HLR, ett ämne som sannolikt sällan diskuteras. Genom att lyfta ämnet till diskussion och öka medvetandet kring det kan förbättringsarbeten initieras, vilka kan resultera till en bättre arbetssituation för sjuksköterskorna och ett bättre

omhändertagande av anhöriga. I resultatet framkom också förslag till organisatoriska förbättringsområden som med fördel kan tas tillvara av sjukhus och andra enheter som utövar HLR.

Förslag på framtida forskning

I föreliggande studie hade samtliga deltagare erfarenhet av anhörigbevittnad HLR, framtida forskning skulle kunna undersöka om inställningen till anhörigbevittnad HLR skiljer sig hos sjuksköterskor som saknar erfarenhet. Dessutom är av intresse att undersöka hur sjuksköterskor, som arbetar på avdelningar där hjärtstoppssituationer är mindre
