Distriktssköterskorna är viktiga på äldrevårdsmottagningen och har en möjlighet att ge god vård till de äldre människorna. Genom en god tillgänglighet, trygghet, kontinuitet och
helhetssyn skapades djupare förståelse. Distriktssköterskorna upplevde att de kunde ha ett bra samarbete med olika instanser och inom äldrevårdsmottagningens team vilket resulterade i god samverkan, även om det fanns utvecklingsmöjligheter. När tillräckligt med avsatt tid fanns upplevde distriktssköterskorna att de kunde ge en god vård och nyttja sin tid. Det finns emellertid en stor prövning för äldrevårdsmottagningens verksamhet och det är upplevelse av brist på tid för mottagningen. Äldrevårdsmottagningar stängs ofta ner till förmån för andra mottagningar på vårdcentralen när problem uppstår såsom personalbrist eller sjukdom.
Studien har inte belyst sambandet med antalet listade äldre patienter och uppfattningen att ha tid för äldrevårdsmottagningen men ett förslag för framtida forskning är att se om sambandet finns och om det har betydelse för möjligheten att ge god vård.
