SMS-dagboken har utvecklats i ett praktiknära samarbete med elittränare sedan 2016. Det är ett enkelt verktyg som skapat högt engagemang som kan an- vändas av såväl idrottspsykologiska rådgivare som ledare. Dessa tips baserar sig på erfarenheter av att ha genomfört SMS-dagboken med samtliga tre grupper av elittränare från Svenska Friidrottsförbundet, Svenska Konståkningsförbundet och Svenska Simförbundet:
n Planera uppstartsmötet inför SMS-dagboken med föreläsning om hållbart
ledarskap, information om SMS-dagboken och hur processen kommer att se ut. Ta hjälp av någon resursperson kan hjälpa dig om du inte har kunskap att genomföra alla delar själv.
n Det är viktigt att kritiskt reflektera över den person som ska hantera
SMS-dagboken och vilken relation till gruppen som denna personen har. Det- ta kan nämligen påverka elittränarnas svar.
n Inför uppstart av SMS-dagboken är det viktigt att vara tydlig med hur sekre-
tess hanteras, till exempel om det är någon ytterligare än personen som han- terar SMS-dagboken som får läsa svaren och vad som händer med insända sms efter avslutad SMS-dagbok.
n Börja med en mindre grupp än den som presenteras här. I de olika faserna
inför denna studie har det varit nio elittränare i varje grupp, och vi rekom- menderar att börja med en något mindre grupp (fem till åtta) med tanke på att snabb återkoppling till alla deltagare är av stor betydelse.
n Personen som hanterar SMS-dagboken bör sätta ett alarm varje kväll kl.
21.00 för att skicka sms:et på en given tidpunkt samt avsätta tid för att på ett snabbt och säkert sätt hantera den dagliga interaktionen. Extra tid behöver dess utom avsättas för att sammanställa veckoreflektioner till samtliga elit- tränare i början av veckan. Detta har varit en viktig faktor för den höga svars- frekvensen och engagemanget.
n Arbetet med SMS-dagboken blir för många en personlig process och det har
i vissa fall framkommit mer allvarlig problematik. Därför bör personen som hanterar SMS-dagboken och ger feedback till deltagarna antingen själv ha erfarenhet av psykologisk bedömning och behandling eller ha ett aktivt sam- arbete med någon som har det.
n Det är bra att vara förberedd på att mötas av ett initialt motstånd till SMS-
dagboken hos vissa. Däremot har det visat sig i alla grupper att detta gradvis övergår till en positiv upplevelse av majoriteten av elittränarna. Det gör att längden, åtta veckor, är viktig att behålla.
n Att behålla formatet av ett kortfattat sms då enkelheten i att det var just ett
sms varit viktigt för den höga svarsfrekvensen och engagemanget i alla grup- per av elittränare.
n Fokusgrupperna är en central del av verktyget då det skapar en möjlighet för
elittränarna att dela erfarenheter. De bör genomföras inom en månad efter avslutad SMS-dagbok.
