8.2 Rekommendationer för fortsatt arbete
Det utförda arbetet har endast bestått av två intervjuer. Då företagen har skilt sig mycket både arbetsmässigt och storleksmässigt är det svårt att dra konkreta slutsatser. Arbetet kan ses som ett underlag för vilka teorier som finns idag och hur några företag har tillämpat social media i sina organisationer. Rekommendationerna som följer för fortsatt arbete skulle ge en klarare bild av hur social media kan tillämpas i produktutvecklingen.
- Komplettera den kvalitativa studien med en kvantitativ studie för att ge ett mer tillförlitligt resultat. Använd input från en större mängd företag.
- Undersöka om det finns någon strategi för att använda social media externt i projektplanering och tidig konceptutveckling med ett positivt resultat, då det inte hittats.
- Undersöka vilka typer av marknader som är mest lämpade att använda social media för produktutvecklingsprocessen. Om det kan skilja sig för företag som arbetar mer trend inriktat.
- Undersöka skillnader för tillämpning av social media internt mellan företag som arbetar på en global nivå och en lokal nivå eftersom kommunikationen kan försvåras vid ett högre antal anställda.
