Nudging och dess teorier är än idag relativt okänd mark där mängden forskningsstudier suc-cessivt expanderar. Studier inom industrin är fortfarande snålt studerat vilket medför att denna studie nu kan räknas in och öka mängden forskning inom området, på så vis kan kunskapsni-vån om nudging som energieffektiviseringsverktyg höjas.

För framtida forskning vore det av intresse att expandera denna studie ytterligare och studera hur andra nudgingmetoder upplevs i produktionsmiljö. Ifall mer kunskap om operatörernas syn på hållbarhet och vilka incitament de har till förändring tas fram kan nudgarna utformas till att vara ännu mer anpassade för individerna. Det hade också varit relevant att utföra samma studie på andra producerande fabriker där energiövervakningsprogram finns tillgäng-liga. Då Sveriges industrier står för mer än en tredjedel av Sveriges totala energikonsumtion (Energimyndigheten, 2015) hade en implementering av nudging varit en billig och effektiv lösning för att minska denna siffra, vilket hade medfört stora besparingar både på pengar och miljö.

Experimentet mäter enbart energikonsumtionen för experimentgrupperna och hur de ser på förändringar och energimedvetet beteende. Studien mäter alltså inte omliggande faktorer som berör produktionen och de anställda. Detta kan ha en påverkan på resultatet då det kan vara så att resultatet vore annorlunda om mindre avgränsningar utförts. För framtida studier vore det därför också av intresse att inkludera fler parametrar som tar hänsyn till pappersproduktionen på ett djupare plan för att få en ännu mer verklighetstrogen implementering och ett säkrare re-sultat.

Då arbete i industri är komplext och eventuellt inte är av optimal valarkitektur för nudging och energieffektiviseringar är det av vikt att på ett smidigt och etiskt korrekt sätt införa imple-menteringen så att ingen individs värderingar och tankar blir negativt påverkade. För att öka möjligheten för generaliseringar av resultatet vore det även av intresse att implementera nud-gingexperimentet på andra miljöer än inom industrin, på så vis kan industrispecifika slutsatser och resultat ändra inriktning från industri till enbart företag.
