I föreliggande studie skuldbelades främst förövaren för våld i nära relation och minst skuld lades på offret. Alla grupper hade en låg nivå av offerbeskyllning, vilket är i enlighet med tidigare forskning på området. Utbildningen som gavs i föreliggande studie bidrog inte till en signifikant reducering av offerbeskyllande attityder vilket kan beror på deltagarnas redan låga offerbeskyllande attityder. Vidare fanns inte förutsättningar för reflektion enligt de kriterier som omnämns i ELM.

Framtida forskning bör implementera utbildning gällande våld i nära relation som är i enlighet med ELM, där faktorer så som repetition, personlig relevans, minskad distraktion och motivation tas i beaktning. Sådan utbildning bör dessutom implementeras innan individer börjar ingå i intima relationer (Fox et al., 2016). Vidare bör framtida forskning utföra noggranna utvärderingar av införda program för att

forskning är av särskild vikt eftersom flertalet kvinnor som lever i en destruktiv relation upplever att de blir skuldbelagda för det som sker. Om kvinnor istället upplever mer stöd ökar sannolikheten för att de vågar lämna den våldsamma relationen.
