6. Slutsats

6.4. Studiens begränsningar och förslag till framtida forskning

Studiens mått på utdelning är utdelning plus återköp av aktier, men i studier som mäter utdelning förekommer flera olika mått. Att vi endast använder ett mått är en brist i studien som valdes på grund av tidsbrist. Framtida studier skulle kunna använda flertalet olika mått för att försäkra

ytterligare att resultaten inte påverkas av hur utdelning mäts. CSR är en annan variabel som kan mätas på andra sätt än som det är gjort i denna studie. Vi använder total CSR samt de tre huvudkategorierna av ESG som definierat av Thomson Reuters. Men i framtida forskning kan fler kategorier av CSR användas, eller andra mått av CSR, tex från andra databaser som mäter annorlunda.

Framtida forskning skulle även kunna titta på andra geografiska länder/områden. Den här studien studerade företag från Kontinentaleuropa och tidigare forskning har studerat USA och Asien varav framtida forskning skulle kunna studera företag från till exempel Sydamerika och Afrika. I och med att den deskriptiva statistiken i studien visar att Turkiet möjligen inte följer samma mönster som resterande Kontinentaleuropa kan det därmed vara aktuellt att studera Turkiet separat.

Vi kontrollerar för skillnader mellan branscher i studien och inkluderar nio olika branscher i urvalet. Framtida forskning skulle kunna titta närmare på kontroversiella branscher som till exempel militär, alkohol och tobak för att se om de har ett annat beteende.
