5.1 Begränsningar, reflektioner och förslag till fortsatt forskning

5.1.3 Studiens bidrag

Studien har bidragit till kunskap inom ledarskapsforskning i en svensk kontext, då det inte finns tidigare studier i Sverige som undersöker det transaktionella och transformativa ledarskapets påverkan på hur medarbetare upplever den psykosociala arbetsmiljön. I ett svenskt sammanhang återger också studien ett praktiskt bidrag när det gäller ledarskapet i företag och organisationer. Studien indikerar att implementering av transformativt ledarskap i svenska företag influerar medarbetarnas upplevelse av den psykosociala arbetsmiljön på ett positivt sätt, särskilt när det gäller arbetsledningsklimat.

Tidigare forskning har visat (t.ex. Malloy & Penprase, 2010; Breevart et al., 2014) att en av två faktorer ur det transaktionella ledarskapet har haft positiva samband med psykosocial arbetsmiljö, medan en av faktorerna uppvisat negativt samband. Detsamma gällde transaktionella ledares influenser på psykosocial arbetsmiljö (Breevart et al., 2014). Resultatet i föreliggande studie visade att transaktionellt ledarskap inte influerade någon av faktorerna gällande psykosocial arbetsmiljö. Det är försvårat att diskutera den aktuella studiens bidrag till tidigare forskning när det gäller transaktionellt ledarskap då faktorerna inte undersökts enskilt. Däremot har den aktuella studien som bidrag till flera tidigare forskningar (t.ex. Malloy & Penprase, 2010; Nielsen & Daniels, 2012; Breevart et al., 2014) visat att det även i en svensk kontext finns positiva samband samt influenser från ett transformativt ledarskap på medarbetares upplevelse av den psykosociala arbetsmiljön.
