Den utförda litteraturstudien har klargjort att det finns en spricka mellan förbätt-ringsarbeten och arbete med produktionseffektivitet. Metoder som presenteras för ökad produktionseffektivitet tar inte hänsyn till faktorer som vid förbättringsarbete spelar störst roll, nämligen mänskliga faktorerna. Studien bidrar med nya infallsvin-klar på problemet på flera sätt. Först och främst presenteras en arbetsmetod för ständig förbättring inom produktionseffektivitet. Arbetsmetoden ger forskningen ett redskap för hur vidare förbättringar kan implementeras på ett sätt som skapar konti-nuitet. Vidare presenteras en modell för mätning av produktionseffektivitet. I mo-dellen (OEPE) vägs mänskliga faktorer in i synen på produktionseffektivitet. Studien har öppnat upp för studier inom balanserad styrning att ta plats inom produktionsef-fektivitet.
