7 Kriget i Jemen – Global nivå

8.3 Vidare forskning

Denna studies undersökning och resultat visar på vad som mer skulle kunna forskas kring inom det avhandlade ämnet. För det första vore fördjupande fältstudier i Jemen av intresse. Det skulle kunna öka kunskapen om befolkningens identitet och ställningstagande gentemot aktörerna som är involverade i konflikten.

För det andra finns det en avsaknad av kunskap kring stammar, vad de har för funktion och vad de har för påverkan på människors identitet. Därmed vore det fördelaktigt att forskare ytterligare i ämnet. Det skulle även innebära en möjlighet att föra en djupare diskussion kring

huruvida nationalism är en användbar teori i stamsamhällen. Denna forskning skulle därefter kunna pröva eller utveckla Millers teori för att kunna göra den mer lättanvänd i områden där nationsgränser är otydliga.

För det tredje skulle en studie där hela regionen studeras kunna ytterligare utveckla helhetsförståelsen för konflikten. Denna forskning skulle till exempel kunna ta hänsyn till GCC- ländernas individuella intressen samt Jemens, Saudiarabiens och Irans grannländer.
