Subject: Bar Code Information

r--SALS Members,

As per your request at the 4/8/92.> SALS meetin9, I have compiled the

following information ....

1. The number o·f characters that can appear across the top of c.t bar

code label to indicated an institutional name i.s 40 characters. This count should include .space:::;.

2. The cost for bar code labels is as follows:

1~. pair of labels is defined as 2 labels which are exac:tly <c~like. Tl·'ieY

may be printed either horizontally or vertically in relationship to

each othet~. The prices listed below at~e fot·-· SINr3LES .... However, if

you want a pair of identical labels just double the number. Confused?

For lf:.~xample 5, 000 pair-·s is. actually 10, 000 lable:::. so the cost

listed below would be $31.25 x 10 for 5, 000 label pairs.

5,000 sin:;?Jles (to be used in pairs) - $31.25 per 1000

28, 000 singes (to t•e used in pairs) - $26. 17 per 1000

100,000 singles (to be used in pait-·s) -· $20.83 per 1000

The minimum invoice amount is $250.00

First pt~oof to put·~chase ot~der specification - NO CHARGE

Customer specification changes $165. 00 (i.e. if you chc~nge your mind

•'=1ftet·-· app;·~oving the pr~oof but befon~ p;~·inting)

Jobs cancellation $250.00 minimum.
