Dr. Ellis was reared in Centerville, Iowa, and attended North-east Missouri State College, Kirksville, Missouri, where he received h)s BS degree. He then attended the University of
Arizona in Tucson, earning an MS and doctorate in Plant Pathology.
On July 1, 1969, he joined the staff of The Great Western Sugar Company, and immediately began working with other techniciahs in planning a nematode control program for the Company. In
addition to nematode control, which remains his major responsibility, he heads up research in plant disease control and assists in plant breeding for disease resistance.
Dr. Ellis and his wife, Ann, have a five-year-old son and make their home in Longmont.
