1 Uppgift 1
Simulate the following process:
There are coming widgets from another process in a distribution of exponential time 7 minutes. The widgets first arrive to an infinite queue Q_entry and then moves to a machine with the capacity of two that adjusts the length of the widget, R_length. After this operation the widgets are moved to an infinite waiting queue, Q_wait. At last the widgets are formed in a capacity lathe, R_lathe. Before the widget can be removed from the lathe a single-capacity cutter needs to be used for that purpose, R_cut.
The time to adjust the length is uniform distributed between 3 and 5 minutes. The forming process in the lathe takes a time of 4 min with an exponential distribution. Finally to remove the widget with the cutter takes a normal distributed time of mean 60 sec and standard deviation of 5 sec.
Simulate the main resources with process queues and let the simulation run for 24 hours.
Answer the following questions:
a) Which of the three resources is mostly utilized and how much?
2 Uppgift 2
Simulate the below system with conveyors and resources.
A pallet with 4 items in each arrives to an infinite queue Q_in with an exponential time of 5 minutes. In the pallet there are both red and blue items with a distribution of 40% red and 60% blue. At the start a resource unpack, R_in, the pallet where it takes exponential
distributed 30 seconds for each item to unload. After all items are unloaded it takes exactly 10 seconds to remove the empty pallet. In the middle of the conveyor system a manual work, R_work, has to be done to move the items from one conveyor to another. The time for each item is unformed distributed between 45 and 55 seconds.
The red items follow the conveyors ending with one and the blue items follow the conveyors ending with two. The red items are of size X-Y-Z, 3-2-1 and the blue 2-3-1. Make sure that the loads are simulated correctly with size and colour.
Simulate for three days.
