A contract for $93,500 bas been awarded to Ecology Consultants, Inc., of Fort Collins, Colorado, to study the flora and fauna of Grand Valley, it was announced today by David L. Crandall, Regional Director of the Bureau of Reclamation.
This area conprises the 76,000 acres of irrigated land and the as&r
ciated areas surrounding Grand Junction and the other snall tQ.Nns within Grand Valley, llesa County, Colorado.
The contract is to be conpleted by June 30, 1976 .
. Purpose of the study is to detennine the plant and an:Unal CO'IIl1Uili ties and to detennine the direct and indirect effects of construction and operation
and maintenance of the Grand Valley Salinity Control Unit on these cammunities.
The contractor will project future changes, environmental factor influences on habitat types.
The contractor, Ecology Consultants, Inc. , was selected fran 45 private finns and universities sutmitting letters of interest.
