Went east of Brush pleasant hunting with Juergens, and so, Threlkeld and Son, and Sid Boyd in Juergens car. Boyd & T journey one pleasant, Juergens got 4 and Threlkeld one. Saw 2 golden eagles, Roughley hawks [illegible] (Near Akron Colo).

Attended funeral of Fred C Carstarphen as pallbearer. Funeral was at Rogers mortuary and at Fairmount cemetery. The other pallbearers were Lt Charles Carstarphen, Paul Carstarphen, the two Fullerton brothers and Mr Benton. Met Charles Carstarphen’s wife Willcox Carstarphen also Paul Carstarphen brothers. REG

Today when Carol was driving home going east at corner of Jewel & South Lincoln she was rammed by a car driven by a woman who turned left across the road. This car bore a 1937 Colorado license for Denver and was a Chevrolet like ours. Witnesses were Billy Otto and Donald Ryder. Woman backed off and continued on down Jewel. Morris married to Virginia Peterson at Lindsborg Kansas.

Thursday Mar 25 1954. Talked with Red Read of the Civil Defense Adm about use of induction motors driven by automobile engines and excited by capacity for emergency paver supply. Letter of Mar 24 1954 on this subject was left with him and also the paper by Bassett & Potter on capacitive excitation of induction matters. (the paper appeared in the May 1935 issue of Electrical Engineering AIEE) the following items were discussed:

1) The need for more development to make this possibility usable for emergency purposes 2) Voltage control use of capacitors connected through motor starters with over voltage reports 3) Use of Woodward governors of automobile governors for speed control

4) The need for a demonstration project

5) The constructor of consensus of readily available materials.

6) The possibility that rate reduction would help day the cont of condense equipment. I dreamed that while the ground work had been laid by [illegible] and Potter, we were far from out of waits so far as operation was concerned. R.E. Glover

Thursday Apr 13 1939. I saw Ireal Winter’s furnace stoker in operation last night. REG Apr 12 1940. Dr Weiss put tenth clamp on veins in left leg today.

Saturday Apr 15 1944

Went fishing at Highland lake with Morris, Bill and Sid Larson. Caught only 9 fish. Too early. Proprietor Mr Mead Loveland Colo. Mileage 90 total.

Sunday Apr 22 1945.

Went to Clover Basin lake with Bill, Mr and Mrs Ulis Mizell and his cousin in my car. Mileage 46 miles one way. (about 90.9 miles round trip). Bill caught about 30 sunfish. I got 4 copper and some blue gills. REG 4-27-45.

May 3 1947 Saturday. Went to the sports show at the Stockyards stadium. Met WB Wells of Sterling. Carlson, Kinghorn and Hart. Culbreath of Arvada has band tailed pigeons. Jim Drammond at Ouray Colo. can tell where prairie chickens can be found in strutting grands. REG.

Saturday May 7 1949. Returned from two weeks work at Sacramento California. REG May 14 1949. May 12 1946 Went to Clover Basin lake with C Crawford & Mr Mizell in my car. I caught 7 coppers and 3 big blue gills (this is the first day this season that the coppers have been hungry) REG

Sunday May 24 1953 Bill and I went to McNeil Lake to fish. Fixed boat and caught Crappies. The Four we brought home weighted 12 16 ounces each. REG

Clough Brengle oscilloscope returned to Interstate Rodeo today to exchange for RCA instrument. REG Tuesday May 26 1953 Went with party into the proposed Tarryall Wilderness area. REG

Sat May 27 1944. Went to Highland lake with Sid Larson and Bill in Sid's car. Caught about six fair sized crappies a piece. REG 6/3/44

Carol left by Continental Air lines flight 23 for El Paso to attend the funeral of her father. The funeral is to be held Wednesday. Mr CW Morris died May 30 1949 REG

June 1 1947. Went fishing at Clover Basin Lake with R. Stone. We caught 50 crappies and bluegills. REG. June 2 1946 Sunday

Took dinner at the Park Lane Hotel as guests. Messrs Ekambarron, Pappu and Marty of India. Mr and Mrs L. Morda, Mr and Mrs Stokes and Mr and Mrs Baker also present.

Went to Tucker’s lake with Morris and Bud Oughten REG caught 2 bass and several crappies. RMG caught 1 finch (13.5 in) and crappies, Bud caught crappies and was one up on Morris when we quit. Mileage 52946 to 52989 - 43 miles. About 20 crappies caught. Bud 8 Morris 7.

Went fishing with Bill Glover at McNiel lake (crappies). Previously we fished on sunday June 7 1953 (large crappies) and tuesday June 16 1953 (catfish, large perch, and one large crappie). Later we went up on tuesday June 16 and slept all night in the car to fish Wednesday June 17 1953 (Large bluegills and large crappies). The large bluegill weighed ¾ lb and was 9.5 inches long. We kept 4 large crappies and 2 bluegills and took 2 large crappies and 2 large bluegills to Ulis REG. 6-17-53

Saw large meteorite in afternoon. I was about one mile west of Parker Colorado and I caught sight of it at 1:30 PM. It left a trail of smoke like a comet. Had [illegible] like a large aeroplane in a shed fragment. Was going about SE by South when sun but gradually turned toward south. Was in sight for 3 minutes. Sky was perfectly clear. I saw it with an 8 x 9 lens and tried to take 16 mm movie with 3” telephoto. Sunday - Sept 20 1953

Went fishing with Bill Saturday October 3 1953 at McNeil Lake. We caught one bass and 1 crappie. Bass was 13 ½ inches long and weighed 1 lb 2 oz. REG

Thursday Oct 8 1953. Carol came home from the hospital this morning and Bill left for Seattle this evening with Leland Curtis Larson. REG

Hunted with Morris and Bill on OF Burnett place 1 mile North and 7 miles west of Wiggins. (House with Silo on N side of paved road) got two ducks. Bill fell in river. We saw pheasants, Cooper’s hawk,

immature golden eagle, Marsh Hawks, Ferruginous rough leg hawks with snow white under parts, pigeon hawks, American rough leg hawks, great horned owl, and short eared owl, seagulls, king fisher, ducks. Bill got a shot at geese. 48671 to 48708 - 77 miles

Hunted on the LG Davis place near Orchard Colo. (take orchard branch from cutoff and turn west on south river road about 2 miles. Has Jule Swamp and front of river). On George Claspell place North of Merino got Mallard and female pheasant. (Go north on road past church at east side of town. Cross canal and RR go west to Logon Store Log N, W, N W and cross second canal. Go west until house is reached. Has full swamps canals west patches. Broom corn and meadow. Party Meyer Dick Glover Stone.
