Veronica Sandgren was born in Ransta, Sweden, on January 30, 1981, to AnnBritt Sandgren and Kenneth Johansson. She graduated from Linköping University in 2004 with a Master of Science in Chemistry. In 2006, she began her postgraduate studies in Organic Chemistry under Professor Ingemar Kvarnström and Professor Bertil Samuelsson.
