Information about vaccination
Approved vaccines against Covid-19 for children and young persons aged 12 years and older.
So far,the world has seen almost 20 million children over the age of 12 get vaccinated against Covid-19. Now there is more knowledge about the benefits of being vaccinated.
Folkhälsomyndigheten, The Public Health Agency of Sweden, has recommended accordingly that children aged 12 and older get vaccinated against Covid-19.
Vaccinations provide protection from becoming infected with Covid-19 and reduces the spread of the virus in society. In Sweden, the vaccination against Covid-19 is voluntary and free for everyone.
In order to provide the best protection, it is necessary to get two doses of the vaccination.
The vaccinations will be given in the primary and secondary schools and in close cooperation with health care services and student health care.
Consent to vaccination
Before vaccination, the guardian(s) must give consent. The consent form is contained in this document and can be completed and sent.
Before vaccination, a digital Declaration of Health must be completed. You should fill the declaration out together with the help of your child. The form will ask that you
acknowledge that you and your child have completed the Declaration of Health.

In cases of shared custody of a child, both guardians must agree to both the consent form and acknowledge that the Declaration of Health was completed by both guardians.
More information is available at 1177.se/blekinge/sa-far-du-vaccin-covid-19. The consent form in this letter must be left in to the school before the appointed time of vaccination. Please note that the school will notify you about when the latest date for leaving in the consent form is.
If the consent form and/or Declaration of Health are incomplete or missing then the vaccination cannot be performed.

In cases where consent is not given by the child's guardians, your child, if he/she is 15 years old, can be seen as mature enough to make his/her own decisions
regarding vaccination. In such cases, an assessment of the child's maturity will be made at the appointed time of vaccination.
