david knezevic is a long-time attendant at Örebro University and holds two master degrees from his alma
mater, in economics and statistics, both of which have
been proven useful in his work. During his doctoral studies David was employed as a Financial Analyst and Researcher at Kommuninvest of Sweden where he currently holds the position of Treasury Analyst.
The name Knezevic is a derivation of the noble title of Knez which originates from the Balkan peninsula. However, David grew up in more humble circumstances than his surname would suggest. Born in 1983 and raised in the small Swedish mountain town of Grängesberg, located in the southern regions of Dalarna and “famous” for its brewery and the iron ore mine that shut down in the early 90’s, David spent most of his days bur-ning daylight. Today he lives in Stockholm with his wife Helena and their two children Leonhard and Valentina. Nowadays David spends his time conducting research and occasionally writing about himself in third person. The Treasurer concerns himself with protecting his organization from the negative impacts of financial risks. This entails, among other things, matching cash flows of assets and liabilities, managing liquidity, streamlining funding practices and keeping an eye on policy makers and the financial markets. This thesis investigates these topics from the perspective of sub-sovereign institutions.
