GREETINGS:
The 1952 DAVIS Expedition. of 800 miles down the Green and Colorado rivers, from the Flaming-Gorge to Bright Angel Creek, unintentionally set the following records: The fastest time ever made to Lee's Ferry. Twenty days.
The smallest boat. Eleven and one half feet. MILDRED DAVIS. age SIXteen, who left the expeJi-tion at Green River, Utah, along with one of the boats. Is the first woman boatman to run Lodore, Whirlpool. Split Mountain. Desolation. and Gray Canyons. She ran all rapids, except the head-waters or Hell's Half Mile. which we portaged.
FERN DAVIS, is the third woman to make the long trip as far as Bright Angel Creek.
BILL DAVIS, is the twenty-ninth person to make the trip !rom Green River. Wyoming, to the Boulder Dam, in Nevada.
Bill and Fern had two mishaps. They upset, once in Cataract Canyon and once in the Grand Canyon.
They had the companionship o! the Mexican Hat Expedition in the Grand Canyon.
