Conference on:

‘Challenges for Aid Effectiveness’

May 30, 2011 at

SITE – Stockholm School of Economics

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Stockholm Institute of Transition Economics (SITE) have the pleasure of inviting you to what is to become a yearly Development Day. This first year the theme is aid effectiveness – an area that has received increasing international attention in recent years by the organization of a number of High Level Forums on Aid

Effectiveness. The purpose of this conference is to bring together scholars and practitioners to discuss some recent findings and remaining challenges for aid to be effective. Among the themes that will be discussed are the causes and consequences of aid volatility, aid and growth, ownership and alignment, measures of success, the politics of aid and the changing financial landscape in the developing world. The hope and ambition is that the debate will serve as an input into the ongoing debate within the Swedish aid community on how to design aid for the 21st century.
